Jim Schaben Jr. and Jon Schaben purchased the West Point Sales Co. from John and Mary Ahrens in October, 2006. They renamed the business West Point Livestock Auction with the goal of offering the local cattle producers an updated facility and an agressive market to merchandise all classes of livestock.

Currently constructing phase two of a three-phase expansion project, West Point Livestock will have tripled its cattle handling ability upon the completion of phase three to include new load-out and vet facilities.

Cattle sales are on Thursdays with finished cattle starting at 10AM, followed by slaughter cows, bulls and then feeder cattle at 12:30 sharp. Special feeder sales are held on Mondays, as announced, and bred cows/pair sales are held on Wednesdays.

In the summer of 2009, Brian Brester, of Howells, stepped in as General Manager, bringing with him a lifetime background in the livestock industry.
